AHHH PROGRESS :)
There is nothing like seeing the numbers go down to drive your motivation. I wanted to do a weekly update, but this week has been crazy, so I finally got a chance to sit down and do an update on life, this past week, progress ...
So let's start with the progress, I did a weigh in and yay! -2.2 lbs! So happy of the progress so far and this is great motivation to keep going and keep doing what we've been doing. And surprisingly, it isn't that hard. I think we've both gotten into a routine and know what to do in the morning for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We know what foods to avoid and what foods we can snack on, and the most amazing part is that our appetites have decreased soooo much! Last Friday I went to Landmark, my favorite restaurant, and usually, I can eat an appetizer, a burger and fries, and still have room for desert. This time, I had one warm pretzel stick and half of a chicken-ranch wrap, and I was beyond full! It was honestly the weirdest thing, being so full so fast, but its a good sign. It got me thinking about portion sizes in America. We take a huge plate of food and think that is the norm, and we reflect those thoughts that we see in the restaurant in our own homes, but honestly, those portion sizes are insane, and it doesn't take that much to feel full. It took my body one week of training, and *poof*, a normal appetite resumed.
Also, i've recently discovered how much I love lemon water! I had read that drinking a cup of lemon-water in the morning was great to jump-start your metabolism, but after trying that for a week and loving it, I just carry around a slice (or maybe 5) of lemons in my plastic water bottle all day, and its a great pick-me-up throughout the day, definitely something I would recommend.
Other than that, life has been crazy. Had a statistics exam that was 1% information I knew and 99% bull-shit, but isn't that how it always goes. Just glad it was my last stat exam per se, because the final is take home, which is the best news ever. Fingers crossed on this one though.
Plans for tonight are to chill at home with the room-mates, and watch the Tell All episode of the Bachelor (that I am so excited for because I HATE Juan Pablo, but am so entertained at the same time).
My room-mate also needs to update this SOON, so N, if you're reading this, time to write girlyyyyyy.
