About Me - The Other Writer - Nikita!

Hey guys!

So I know the last few posts have been written by Devika, but we actually started this blog it as a joint blog for the two of us! I thought it was finally time to come out of the woodwork and introduce myself. My name is Nikita and I am a junior in college this year. As Devika has mentioned before, this blog basically started out as being a way for us to keep track of our Project Get Fit For Summer, but I think we're basically just going to write whatever comes to mind and whatever we feel like sharing! So stay tuned....this could get really random really fast. But whatever it is, we hope you enjoy.

So here are a few updates regarding my weight loss journey so far:

The Plan: 
So I've said many times before that "this is the time I'm going to lose weight", "this will be the time I finally succeed". But there are a few things that are different about this time: the plan me and Devika are on is realistic (that is SO important - if it's not realistic, you're not going to stick with it!) AND it gives us all the nutrients we need (no more Special K fad diet for us!) one. Here's the basic meal plan we are following: 
Breakfast: Cereal/Oatmeal  
Lunch: Indian Food or a sandwich or burger or anything else heavy in carbs. 
Dinner: Salad! And a piece or two of Trader Joe's multigrain break to give us just a few needed carbs. 
Here are some other tips we're using: 
  • Eat Breakfast like a prince, Lunch like a king, and dinner like a beggar. 
  • Drink lemon water first thing in the morning 
  • Drink half your body weight in ounces throughout the day 
  • Keep only healthy foods in the house so you won't be tempted 
  •  Eat dinner EARLY - before 8 or 9 preferrably 
  • Get plenty of rest
 The Exercise! 
So Exercise is obviously a super pivotal part of the losing weight and being healthy about it! The more you work out, the more fat you'll burn and the more muscle you'll build and develop. More muscle = more calories burned. LADIES: do not be afraid of weight lifting! You will not become crazy body builders, I PROMISE you!
Here's the plan we are following: 
Monday: Legs and Abs
Tuesday: Cardio - Running & Abs
Wednesday: Zumba
Thrusday: Cardio - Running & Abs
Friday: Arms and Abs 
Saturday: Cardio - Running & Abs

So after Week 1, I lost 2 pounds, which I was super ecstatic about! Mine and Devika's weigh in day is Saturday morning before shower or breakfast or anything. Weighing in first thing in the morning is the best way to do it. 

After the end of Week 2: I found out that I stayed the same, which was SUPER disappointing. And that was a real test for me. I thought "Wow, why didn't it work out for me this week? What the hell is wrong with me? Did I mess up that badly?" and honestly it took a while (all of saturday and sunday) for me to bounce back and get out of my own head. So I decided that I'm going to take proactive steps towards remedying that situation and to make sure that doesn't happen again. My new weigh in plan is going to be every other day. That way, if something is going south, I'll know if I'm gaining weight or not loosing any weight really soon - rather than wasting an entire week of hard work. It's all about finding what works best for you. 

So we will see what happens at the end of Week 3! 


 


Slight Update and Bachelor Rant

Well, first things first, weigh in was good last week! My two week loss total is -4.7 lbs! Which is super exciting :) Kind of nervous though, to make sure to keep up this pace that I love, but right now my mind is not even on that, i'll write more about that later. Right now, I need to rant because I cannot even believe the rediculousness that is the Bachelor right now.

This was the first season of the Bachelor that i've watched, and even though it may be scripted/planned whatever, the thing that annoys me beyond belief is the last Bachelor, Juan Pablo. First of all, that individual does not even deserve to be called a man because he is just the scum of this Earth. Who does he think he is? He is some washed up ex-football nobody who looks like a mouse and has the personality and emotions of a dickwad. He thinks he is next to God and should be God's gift to women, when really, he is just a piece of shit that every girl is too good for. 


At the start of the season he kissed every girl, then made excuses whenever girls brought up any problems by saying that he has a daughter he is looking out for. The fact that this man used his daughter as an excuse or cover-up for facing real conversations just shows how low of an individual he is. 


Then, when the last couple girls were around, he showed how little he cares about anyone except himself. When Andi left him, he showed no emotion, and just kept saying "it is okay". He was clearly never in this to begin with and was just along for the ride of being a player and hooking up with other girls. Any man who can say to a girl, when he is down to the last two, that even though they don't know each other, he is okay being together because he likes hooking up with them, doesn't deserve any love or happiness. 


Perhaps the most shocking though was at the "After the Final Rose" ceremony, when Nikki told him she loved him from the start and Chris H (who is my new personal hero) kept asking him if he loved Nikki, and all he kept saying was that this was private. Excuse me, but if you signed up for this show, you can't say that anymore, and it was just a cover for the fact that he doesn't love Nikki, and he has no plans for their future. Clearly the whole show was just exposure for him and just a game, and I hope that Nikki realizes the truth and can stand up for herself and accept that the "man" she is with deserves nothing but hatred because does he honestly think that people give two shits about him, and as if him hiding everything will make people wonder more. Congrats Juan Pablo because the only thing you've gained from this show is shown American how much of an asshole you are and how you deserve no love at all.
